Our conference chair Fran Hughes is is Director of the International Tourism Partnership. ITP works with its members to drive continual improvement in environmental and social responsibility through its online magazine Green Hotelier. It offers many practical products including the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) and sets the agenda on sustainability through collaborative working groups and issues management. Fran has over 25 years’ experience in the tourism industry, holds a Master’s in Environmental Strategy and is an Associate of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment.
Claire Whitely is Senior Manager of Sustainability at Hilton Worldwide. She is responsible for supporting all managed hotels in Europe, Middle East and Africa in sustainability reporting and compliance with environmental legislation, as well as arranging environmental training and the roll out of energy, water and waste best practices.
Anthony Osborne is a former energy manager at a manufacturing complex with a £15M annual energy bill, where he was responsible for what became one of the biggest building energy management systems in the world. Since moving into consultancy he has applied his knowledge of energy management to a wide sector of energy users including many leisure centres and some 50 hotels in Europe, Africa and the Middle East (almost all four and five-star establishments), identifying over 57,000  tonnes of potential CO2 savings and almost 630,000 m3 of water potential savings in the process
  John Mulholland is an independent energy consultant and trainer best known for his work on motivation and awareness-raising. He has had many successful projects working with chefs in large commercial kitchens.
Dave Covell has worked extensively in the hotel sector for over 20 years providing energy management support and advice to many hotel operators. This has ranged from small, independent, country house hotels in the West Country through to international hotel chains. His knowledge, experience and passion for energy efficiency has resulted in him being asked to speak at conferences across the world.
  Bill Gysin is managing director of Elcomponent. Being a long-established supplier of energy metering and data collection systems, he has intimate knowledge of the subject and familiarity with the practicalities. But as previous conference and workshop audiences will attest, he is scrupulously careful to provide an objective and impartial view.
  Daniel Curtis is an engineer whose work in energy over the past twenty years has focused on sustainability. His particular interest in the provision of off-grid power systems has taken him on projects throughout the world, most recently with healthcare facilities in Africa. He is a Certified Energy Manager.
